Today's theater, pursuing new forms and ideas, all too often forgets its main purpose: to be for and about people. But the demand for a theater dedicated to exploring human personality, dealing with one's emotions and feelings has became so obvious that we created our festival to promote, support and preserve such theaters.

 ACADEMIA encourages theaters that develop classic traditions of drama by means of the contemporary theater. Our festival offers the Omsk audience a distinguished and impressive array of world-famous theaters and artists.

Our mission is to serve as a one-of-kind Theater Academy where any role, any director's work or a production as a whole, regardless of its genre can become the main character.

The Omsk Region is a fast-developing region, both economically and culturally.

We believe that ACADEMIA will help Omsk break a common stereotype of a Siberian city and help it become one of the world cultural centers. This Festival is our way of showing the effectiveness and consistence of the Region's cultural policy at the international level
